Completed Projects

PROJECT: CITY OF DORAL TRAFFIC RELIEF PLAN
SCOPE OF WORK

The Traffic Relief Plan consists of implementing traffic relief strategies to improve vehicular mobility along the major arterial within City of Doral. The provided engineering services consists of performing an assessment of the existing signal operations along the study corridors in order to develop fine tuning strategies which includes new signal timing plans that were discussed and coordinated with the Miami-Dade County Area Engineer at the Traffic Control Center and then implemented based on field observations prevailing existing traffic conditions. Performance measures such as Travel time, travel speed, buffer time, and travel time index were used to establish a baseline condition to determine the effectiveness of the implemented recommendations. The analyzed arterials within the City of Doral limits that signal timing recommendations were proposed and implemented are: • NW 41st Street/Doral Boulevard from SR-821/Florida’s Turnpike to SR-826/Palmetto Expressway • NW 87th Avenue from NW 12th Street to NW 33rd Street • NW 107th Avenue from NW 12th Street to NW 90th Street In addition to providing signal timing adjustments to the study corridors along City of Doral, Our team analyzed and performed studies in areas within the City limits that roadway operational deficiencies were identified to improve traffic operations. For Instance, the evaluation of the westbound approach signal and traffic operations at the NW 87th Avenue and NW 17th Street intersection and the evaluation of the multi-way stop controlled intersections along NW 107th Avenue between NW 86th Street and NW 88th Street

PROJECT: FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT VI, DISTRICT WIDE SIGNAL RE-TIMING. MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA
SCOPE OF WORK

The objective of this project is to perform traffic signal re-timing in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties along selected state roads to improve arterial mobility by analyzing arterial performances during the morning and afternoon peak times of the day. The provided engineering services consists of collecting and evaluating live traffic congestion, vehicles travel time/speed/delay data obtained from the Regional Integrated Transportation System (RITIS) and from field collected data using PC-Travel software. In addition, the signal operation plans, traffic signal data, gap-outs from MOE reports and time-space diagrams were obtained from the Miami-Dade County Kimley-Horn Integrated Transportation System (KITS) software. There reports were then analyzed to establish a baseline conditions to develop signal re-timing recommendations for the study corridor. These signal re-timing recommendations were coordinated with the Miami-Dade County Area Engineer at the Traffic Control Center to be implemented in order to perform an assessment with the established performance measures to obtain traffic conditions improvements. The analyzed corridors within Miami-Dade County that signal re-timing recommendations were developed and implemented during the morning and afternoon peak periods are: • SR-5/US-1 from SW 16th Avenue to SW 19500 Block. With the addition of the signals along Ponce de Leon from S Alhambra Circle to Riviera Drive • SR-94/Kendall Drive from SR-997/Krome Avenue to SR-5/US-1 • SR-9/NW 27th Avenue from NW 28th Street to Ali Baba Avenue • SR-7/NW 7th Avenue from NW 46th Street to NW 215th Street

PROJECT: DISTRICTWIDE TRAFFIC OPERATIONS SAFETY STUDIES CONTRACT, BROWARD, PALM BEACH, ST. LUCIE, MARTIN AND INDIAN RIVER COUNTIES, FLORIDA
SCOPE OF WORK

The scope of work for this contract includes performing traffic engineering studies to address traffic safety concerns. E Plus staff has completed over 36 TWOs through this contract which has also included the development of signal timing improvements to address traffic safety concerns. For instance, our staff developed and implemented “Flush” plans along SR 736/Davie Boulevard from I-95 to Andrews Avenue to mitigate the impacts of the bridge openings at NW 17th Avenue during periods of high traffic demand. This effort was closely coordinated with the District Four’s TSM&O staff as well the Broward County Traffic Management Center (TMC) staff.
